Planes can land again in Brussels since yesterday morning and take off since yesterday afternoon. Even if the number was limited it felt good to see a plane in the air again. After a mix of bad news (new volcano eruption with ashes coming our way) & good news (no new ashes detected and finally London airport also opening at 22h) yesterday, Brussels airport will stay open till at least today noon and it is expected that number of flights will continue to increase the coming days. Decision will be taken after further analysis of a plane in which ashes have been found yesterday evening.
Not easy to find info on whether our flight will take place or not, but yesterday afternoon Phil finally succeeded in reaching Delta Airlines and they have 'positive expectations'. Probably with delay - since Belgium is still in the 'grey' zone and each plane has to be checked after/before each flight - and risk to miss our connection in Atlanta, but al least we'll be on 'holiday'.
So, we're almost ready to leave tomorrow .. whether we will be back in 1 month or stay (be stuck) in (Hotel) California is another questions ;-)
