Back in Utah visiting Arches National Park

When we looked outside our room this morning we immediately forgot the cold night -> Deer just a couple of meters from the room.

Nice to have a lot of sun again and less wind, so even if it is less than 16°C it feels warmer in the sun. And of course the 'adventurous' tour of Balcony House & explanation about the Pueblo people ensured we stayed warm ;-)

Passing some cowboys on our 3,5h drive to Moab

Even if rain and snow was foreseen for today we hardly got some, so a lot of luck again and ideal weather for different hikes in the magnificent Arches National Park. Unbelievable to drive and walk amongst those massive Rocks & Arches ... nature makes us feel extremely small again ...

I add some pictures on which you can also see us, to have an idea on how big everything is.
The South and North Window Arches :

Me in the South Window Arch :

Turret Arch - with a door AND a window ;-)

We are not used to see many people in the parks (not high season yet), but Arches seems to be an exception -> A lot of people and many hotels in Moab seem to have no vacancy anymore.

Landscape Arch - One of the longest in the world :

Me on our way to Sandstone Arch :

Kris under Sandstone Arch :

Check-in at the Moab Hampton Inn at 19h and going out to a Mexican restaurant for dinner.

  1. Hi guys,
Good to see you survived the climb to the cliff dwellings it would have been a shame to miss out on seeing the Arches ;-) thanks for so many interesting and dramatic pictures of them. The calves are cute, just like the farmville ones :-)
